I’m a copywriter/designer working on the intertubes from my home office in Chicago.  I work for Love (err…for my husband anyway).  We have our own small business.  He is our accountant.  I’m our HR department.  Getting health insurance for our family…and especially for me, I have a pre-existing condition, led me to create this blog.

As someone who actually has to pay doctors bills (we have  high deductible plans) I’ve also become very skeptical of a medical establishment that seems to want to overtest and overtreat.

I am not a doctor.  Nor do I play one on TV.  I’m not an insurance agent either.  Take my advice at your own risk.

Oh, I do have training as a medical illustrator (see the pretty spine!  It is for sale…)  Which is why some posts may trend towards the medically geeky.
